The Eiger Institute
The Eiger Institute is a Swiss, non-partisan, non-profit association composed of analysts and experts from all linguistic regions of the country. The Institute produces independent analyses of public policy and Switzerland's long-term trajectories. It provides decision-makers, the media and the public with the latest scientific research findings in various fields, presented in the form of structured and comparative information aimed at improving the quality of collective decision-making.
Our work
The Eiger Institute was founded in 2026 by a group of Swiss citizens.
The starting point: the decisions that shape our country’s future are becoming increasingly complex. Yet whether it be elected representatives, the media or citizens called upon to vote, there is often a lack of time, access to research and perspective needed to step back, analyse, depolarise and make the decisions that Switzerland deserves.
Against this backdrop, the Eiger Institute’s mission is to improve the quality of decision-making and public debate in Switzerland by producing clear, rigorous, independent analyses based on the latest scientific findings. The aim is to provide tools for putting issues into perspective for policymakers, the media and citizens called upon to vote but who lack the time or access to the necessary research to deepen their understanding.
The Institute offers several types of publications: referendum briefings to shed light on the issues put to a public vote, specific thematic analyses, and reflective pieces on Switzerland’s trajectory in the areas of resilience, democracy and competitiveness. The publications are presented in an accessible format designed to aid decision-making.
The Institute is established as an association within the meaning of Articles 60 et seq. of the Civil Code. The committee is responsible for managing the association and draws on a network of external experts and analysts to produce its publications.
